New website to improve dialogue with the residents in Lecce province in Italy

19 nëntor 2012 - TAP project information, development updates and sharing possibilities - TAP project information, development updates and sharing possibilities is the new web site developed by Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to expand and improve the already strong relationship with the communities ginthe province of Lecce, Italy. The new online portal will provide easier and faster access to project updates and information through a more intuitive interface. Additionally, a new section called “Do you have a question?” is designed to allow anyone to ask questions about the gas pipeline, with a landfall based near San Foca, delivering natural gas from the Caspian Sea to Italy and futher to western Europe.
The site has five main sections dedicated to Internet visitors who want to get a closer look at the project:

  1. About TAP – includes company information, benefits for Italy and the proposed routing
  2. Environment – explains construction approaches adopted by TAP to protect  the environment
  3. Engineering – technical aspects
  4. Security – aherence to international standards on safety and security
  5. Our contribution –  benefits for the Lecce area and commitment to dialogue with local communities.

 Giampaolo Russo, TAP Country Manager, said: “We are very excited about because it represents the next step in developing our relationship with the territory, a number one priority for us to which we have been focusing on strongly since January 2011 through our international site, with meetings and by developing connections with local communities. The new Italian platform is available to anyone who is interested in learning more about the project, receiving updates, asking questions and interacting directly with us”.

About the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP)

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) is a natural gas pipeline project that will transport gas from the Caspian region via Greece and Albania and across the Adriatic Sea to Southern Italy and further into Western Europe.
The project is aimed at enhancing security of supply as well as diversification of gas supplies for the European markets. TAP will open a new so-called Southern Gas Corridor to Europe and establish a new market outlet for natural gas from the Caspian Sea and beyond.
